We often get requests for needle felted organic cotton batting for quilting.  We have found the only mill in the country that is needle punching organic cotton batting.  This fill is made with organic cotton batting and needle punched to a thickness of 1/8".  It's perfect for hand quilting or machine quilting.

This organic cotton batting is very clean and grown and processed in the United States.  The batting will cling to the fabric making stitching easy.  Quilt stitches up to 4" apart.  Once sewn into your product the batting is machine washable in cold water and dry flat.  Cotton batting can shrink 3-5%.

The low loft batting comes in many sizes:

Small: 45" x 60" = crib size or lap blankets

Medium: 72" x 90 = twin bed size

Large: 81" x 96" = full size bed

XL: 120" x 120" = king and queen size projects

Why use organic cotton?  Conventional cotton production relies heavily on pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, and large amounts of water.  Those pesticides and fertilizers contaminate the soil as well as ground and surface water, and drift onto nearby crops. Organically grown cotton uses no pesticides and fertilizers in its production which in turn also mean less use of water.  Organically grown cotton is better for the environment and less harmful to those engaged in its production.
