Coat of Many Feathers is a design by Elizabeth Hall that was test knitted by Anne Barnes, who we adore and who loves to knit with our yarn. We did not know she was knitting such a beautiful garment and the yarns she used were a test dye for us that we did not repeat. Well . . . after she showed us the sweater, we had to make that yarn again. So we have put together a kit for this pattern. It's available on Ravelry here:
We love the sweater and hope you will too, Anne really enjoyed knitting the sweater with our Finn-Merino yarn blend in sport weight. Even though the pattern calls for worsted weight, she got the same gauge with our yarn and suggested needles.
We love this Finn-Merino base! It's a locally produced yarn and milled right here in New York and made for us by the fabulous folks at Battenkill Fiber Mill. And the very talented Kelly Shultes dyed it up for us.
The kit is comprised of 5 skeins for the black main color and three skeins of the multi-color pastel contrast color. We included two 1.75 oz skeins for the splash of color that Anne added to her project. It's enough to knit the sweater to a 54" chest size.
