Current Stock:

Leaf Voter Suppression Behind!  is a colorway designed by Adella Colvin of LolaBean Yarn Co. and is her interpretation of a pile of leaves in the fall.  It's also a symbolic nod to the work being done by Fair Fight Action 2020, a group started by Stacy Abrams to stamp out voter suppression.  The first batch ran out so quickly that Adella offered to do another run and to add a fingering weight.  PLEASE NOTE:  This is a pre-order of this yarn.  Your order will be dyed and sent to you in about three weeks.

There are two weights of this fabulous yarn - Soy Bean and String Bean.

Soy Bean is a 4 ply DK Weight 100% Superwash Merino, 231 yards, 100 g

String Bean is a 4 ply Fingering Weight 75% Superwash Merino/25% Nylon; 463 yards, 100 g

Each skein is also a fundraiser for Fair Fight Action.  For each skein sold, $5 will be donated and matched by both myself (CeCe Tkaczyk) and Adella Colvin of LolaBean Yarn Co.

Voter suppression takes many forms -- long lines, broken machines, misinformation, missing poll data, closed polls, no affidavit ballots.  Voter suppression has historically and continues to be forced on minority communities and poor neighborhoods.  It also means battles in court in close elections over what absentee ballots to open.  We need to be prepared to support democracy and to ensure that everyone who is registered to vote is able to exercise their right to vote without hurdles.

In Adella's words:   I see lots of folks, more specifically *white folks* telling people that if they want true change and social equality, they should vote. While that is absolutely true, and sounds so cool and important, y’all need to understand that VOTING ISN’T AS ACCESSIBLE OR EASY TO DO FOR BLACK, BROWN AND POOR FOLKS. So before you fix your lips to tell people to “just vote” or fix your fingers to type it, understand that our voting system was built to exclude black and brown folks and it’s not easy for a lot of folks to “just vote.” HELP MAKE VOTING FAIR AND ACCESSIBLE TO ALL. Then feel free to tell people to “just vote.”

Thank you for being engaged -- get out and vote and make sure others have the same opportunity to do so.  For those who can, there are lots of ways to get engaged and support voter registration drives and support organizations like Fair Fight 2020.  Thank you!!

This yarn set aside for the pre-orders has all been sold.  Thank you all so much!    If you would like to make a donation or get more information from Fair Fight Action 2020, you can contact them here:   https://fairfight.com/about-fair-fight/
