Why We Love Wool
Wool has been a trusted fiber since ancient times and it resists dirt and is easy to clean.
This "Made in New York Natural Color Yarn kit" consists of three skeins of naturally colored wool yarn that were grown and spun in New York State. It's a mix of Merino, Romney, Corriedale wools and very luscious. I really enjoy knitting with it. It's very soft and has great stitch definition. These skeins are local wools which came on cones. We wound the wool into skeins and washed each skein allowing it to bloom beautifully. This yarn is perfect for sweaters, shawls, hats and soft to the skin.
* DK weight
* 100 grams
* 230 yards
Total yardage for the kit is 690 yards; 300 grams.
There are two variations - charcoal gray, white and light gray or brown, white, and light gray.
I used the charcoal gray, white, and light gray to make the sample shawl. Pattern for the shawl is "Shawl with No Name" Carroll Davis-Johnson and is free on Ravelry. The sample calls or 450 total yardage so with this kit you can make the shawl larger.
