Organic Cotton Waterproof Liners

We are using an environmentally friendly water resistant fabric to make liners for our dog beds. We have wanted a biodegradable fabric that also provides some breathability to allow our dogs to enjoy the fully wooly benefit of their beds.  And it is GOTS certified!  

The water resistant fabric is comprised of two layers of organic jersey knit with a 1mil bio-based TPU film sandwiched between the 2 fabrics.  There is no outgassing as it is solvent-free, not chemically treated, and it is fully biodegradable.  And it is not noisy like petroleum based barriers tend to be. The 6 oz fabric is soft, flexible, and easy to sew.

TPU stands for thermoplastic polyurethane and is one of the most sustainable and eco-friendly options used as a water barrier.

TPU is a non-toxic and 100% food-safe material. The TPU film is derived from Non-GMO cornstarch and fully biodegradable. TPU does not contain any chemicals that interfere with endocrine and hormone systems, nor does it contribute to PH change in soil or water. 

TPU is Oeko Tex certified. Oeko Tex certification verifies that the product has been tested and is free of any harmful chemicals and safe for human use.

TPU is also Greenguard criteria friendly and has passed the applicable internal test. Greenguard standard includes health based criteria for additional chemicals and also requires lower total VOC emissions levels to ensure that products are acceptable for use in environments such as schools and healthcare facilities.

TPU's "breathability" refers to its ability to circulate the air and at the same time trapping the moisture/perspiration. 

Washing Instructions: Wash in warm or cold water.  If possible, use a biodegradable detergent.  DO NOT USE BLEACH.  Tumble dry warm and remove promptly.

Our Waterproof Liners do the trick of protecting your wool mattress from unwanted accidents and spills. 

Liners come in small, medium, large and XL sizes.  These sizes fit and protect from moisture the cushions in our My Best Friend Dog Beds.  We use a zipper closure so they can be pulled off and washed.
