GOOD TROUBLE: A New Chapter in a Shared Legacy
Every October, LolaBean Yarn Co. and CeCe's Wool come together to turn color into action. What began years ago as Leaf Voter Suppression Behind, a bold act of fiber-based protest, has grown into a movement that’s raised tens of thousands of dollars for organizations like Fair Fight Action and Rock the Vote.
This year, the story continues with a new name and a renewed purpose.
John Lewis was the inspiration for the colorway "Good Trouble" as he never wavered and he never gave up hope. Adella developed a colorway that carries both defiance and grace in every strand. It’s the language of protest told through color.
At its core is a gray, anchored like the shadows under the Edmund Pettus Bridge. Crimson red runs through it, a visceral reminder of bloodshed and righteous fury. Golden ochre and antique brass bring warmth and history, echoing yellowed newspapers and handmade signs lifted skyward. Olive green is for militant strategy and the quiet work of organizing. Deep blue carries the dignity of a well-worn suit in the halls of Congress. And a lighter blue. The dream, soft but persistent, always pushing forward.
A portion of every skein will go to Indivisible a grassroots organization fighting to protect democracy and expand voter access.
Because Good Trouble isn’t a moment. It’s a movement, and it evolves with us.

Navy Bean is a 2 ply Fingering Weight 100% Superwash Merino, 400 yards, 100g
Soy Bean is a 4 ply DK Weight 100% Superwash Merino, 231 yards, 100 g
Edame Bean is a bulky weight 100% Superwash Merino, 138 yards, 115 g
Care: Hand wash, lay flat to dry.

Worsted weight yarn in the Good Trouble colorway
The yarn was so soft and lovely to knit with. The color was beautiful. It was fun to see it emerge as I knitted, with purl bumps looking like a string of colorful beads.

LBYC Edamame in Good Trouble
I wish I had ordered more of this yarn! The yarn feels lovely to work with. The stitch definition is great. And, the colorway is beautiful. I have a little of LBYC yarn, and I think this has got to be my favorite. I especially love that it was a fundraiser (for Indivisible if I remember correctly).
