This year, we fell in love with the moody colors of aged copper and brass and came up with a color we are calling Patina. It's timeless and goes with so many colors. We think it will make great sweaters and shawls that you will want to wear over and over. Our dyer Kelly Shultes did an amazing job bringing this colorway to fruition.
We dyed this yarn on several bases and we like them all. Come and see them in person at the NYS Sheep and Wool festival in Rhinebeck, NY.
Our American Ewe Yarn is a yarn base Kelly and I created from US sheep ranches following Responsible Wool Standards (Shaniko Wool Co.). The ranches are third party audited to ensure the sheep are treated humanely, the land is managed well, and the workers all receive fair wages. The wool is washed and spun in North Carolina and we hand dye each skein. With a micron count of 21, the softness and squish is incredible!
We knitted Thea Colman's new pattern Dubbel Dark using American Ewe Tweed Patina and it is stunning. Hope you can see it in person at NYS Sheep and Wool Festival! The photo images don't do it justice - wait until you see the yarn in person!
All the yarns ordered on the website will be dyed post Rhinebeck. Please allow 3-4 weeks for shipping.
Thank you for your continued support of our small business.
